Can we bring our dogs to Thistledown Glamping & Cottages?Yes! Two dogs are welcome in our cabins Wren & Finch. One small dog is welcome in Bramble Cottage - we will consider more if they are non-shedding dogs. Do send us a message before you book. OUR DOG FRIENDLY POLICY We love to welcome you and your dogs here at Thistledown Glamping & Cottages. We aim to be truly dog friendly & for us this includes not making an extra charge for your dogs to stay. In order for us to continue not to charge we do ask for your help with a few things. The last thing we want is for you to spend your holiday worrying about what your dog is up too and feeling like you have to stop them doing things they are allowed to at home! This is what we ask if you are staying with your four legged friends….. · It’s their holiday too so we totally understand if they want to sleep on the bed or pinch your chair. We just ask that you bring your own throws/bedding to cover their chosen ‘spot’ & that you remove any of our pillows & throws & place them out of the way. We have throws, towels, food mats & water bowls if you need to borrow anything – just send us a message. · Do not leave your dogs unattended in Wren or Finch at any time. · We do allow dogs to be left for short periods in Bramble Cottage but they MUST be crated & this is at your own risk. · All dogs must be fully house trained, over 10 months old & well behaved. · Please be respectful of other guests & dogs, do not allow your dog to run freely unsupervised. We are a working small-holding & as such there is often machinery moving around & we also have sheep, chickens, ducks & our own dog. · If you bring more dogs than the stated number allowed in each unit without prior permission before your arrival charges will apply. · Please always clean up after your dogs, including the field/car park if you are staying in the cabins. · Please sweep through in the huts at the end of your stay. · For Bramble Cottage we do provide a vacuum cleaner, please vacuum throughout before you leave. · Please don’t allow your dog in our pond, we want to encourage the various plants and wildlife to thrive here. · And because sometimes things go wrong & you might need a vet, Tysul Vets in Llandysul is the closest - 01559 363318 We are very happy to consider more dogs, depending on size, if you contact us before you book.

What is the wood fired hot tub Pre-Arrival heat up service? We don't automatically heat the water before you arrive, there are lots of reasons for this. However, we have now introduced our new Hot Tub Pre Arrival heat up service for those of you who want to jump straight in! This is usually available for Friday or Saturday arrivals, other arrival days are subject to availability - please get in touch to check for your break. For £20 (when you book direct with us) we will heat the water for 3pm in Wren & Finch, and 4pm in Bramble Cottage. These times can't be changed, so if you choose this option but you know you will be arriving a little later you may have to re-light the wood burner to increase the water temperature if it has dropped a bit. But our hot tubs are great at maintaining the temperatures - often until the next morning. Just let us know at least 24 hours before your arrival day & we can add this to your booking, payment by BACS before arrival please. Subject to availability. T&C's apply.

What do we need to bring? We provide all bed linen (unless specified otherwise) so no need to bring that. One bathroom towel bundle per person is supplied for stays of 2+ nights when you book direct with us. Towels are NOT provided for 1 nights stays. You may like to bring hot tub towels & beach towels though for days out & flip flops & bathrobes for getting out of the hot tub (our white, fluffy bathroom towels don't do very well when used outside!). We use white bedding & bathroom towels, if you use fake tan we would kindly ask that you provide your own as this does not come out of white items. You will need to provide your own food & drink & don't forget toilet roll! In Finch and Wren we provide basic cooking utensils & pots, for the hob inside & a skillet for the fire pit. Wood is provided for the hot tubs. Log bundles are available to buy for your fire pit. Please see the 'Our Huts' page for more information on what you can find in the huts. Bramble Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen. The coffee machine takes the equivalent of Nespresso original pods. If you are bringing dogs don't forget to bring their bed or throws to cover our furniture.

Are the Wood Fired Hot Tubs difficult to use?No, they really aren't. They do require some work on your part to get them up to temperature but if you plan that around cooking your meal on the fire pit, or while enjoying a drink together you really won't notice that. Plus it's all part of the adventure! The tub will be freshly filled with cold water before your arrival, and the fire will be all ready for you to light when you are ready. We provide clear instructions in the hut on how to get the best out of the hot tub & if you follow these you will have it ready to use within a couple of hours. The first heat up is always the longest, between 2-3 hours if you follow our instructions, but with the insulated lids the water will retain it's temperature pretty well, you may even find that it's still warm enough to get in the next morning without lighting the fire again. If you light the fire again on your second evening it will heat up much more quickly. Once you light the wood burner you must not leave it unattended. We re-stock the hot tub wood once a day & this is included in the price of your stay, unless stated otherwise. Only wood supplied by us may be used in the wood burner. Our hot tubs are not suitable for children under the age of 12 years.

Can I book the whole site for my family? You can book all of our accommodation but each unit must be booked under the lead guest staying in that accommodation, who must be over 21. What is the security deposit? We ask for a refundable security deposit to cover any damage that may be caused during your stay. It is very unlikely that we would ever collect this & certainly not for accidental breakage of a plate, glass etc. The £100 is pre-authorised on the day of your arrival on the card used to pay your balance. This money never actually leaves your account, your bank just 'holds' it in the unlikely event that we were to make a claim on it. The funds need to be available in your account for this, the money is automatically released 7 days after your departure. Please see our T&C's for full details.
-
Do the Cabins have heating?Yes, they have electric heaters that are available to use during colder months. We control them externally by WiFi, they are set to a comfortable temperature but if it's too hot/too cold a quick message to us & it can be changed instantly.
